Book Cover Design

My friend Arushi owns a publishing company and she entrusts me with designing some of her books. Right now I’m working on one for diabetes. These are four cover concepts I’ve come up with. Thoughts and feedback are welcome.

  1. the one–definitely the one–on the upper right, with the black headline on yellow color field. the other three catch the eye too, but more busily than the one on the upper right, which catches the eye in a boldly graphical yet still serene way.

that’s my instant reaction; i could further analyze later if you like.

  2. Huh- I was going to say the top left. I don’t particularly like how huge the pics of the syringe are in the other three. (yes, I know they’re not permanent, just a first impression) Plus, I like the image of strength that the woman portrays. But otherwise, I defer to the previous poster’s expertise.

  3. I vote for the upper right, but suggest replacing the picture of the syringe with the one of the glucose monitor (less scary). The woman in the upper left is great at catching the eye of 30-something woman (myself included), but the older couple may be closer to the intended audience.

  4. Thanks guys! I think we’re going to go with the one in the lower right, which (lol) is the one that none of you picked. I know that the text being blocked out is probably messing with things, but I can’t post it until that’s finalized. I will post the final when it’s blessed by all the powers that be.

  5. Thank you for choosing one without a huge syringe in it. I’m sure that’s normal for a diabetic but it’s not something I want to see on a book cover.
