From the Associated Press today:

Python vs. alligator in swamp

MIAMI, Florida (AP) — The alligator has some foreign competition at the top of the Everglades food chain, and the results of the struggle are horror-movie messy.

A 13-foot Burmese python recently burst after it apparently tried to swallow a live, six-foot alligator whole, authorities said.

  1. declicious. yup, its a word. i beleive it is an ancient shoshone indian saying for “man who eats large python and finds surprise of alligator inside.” yeah… thats it…. definitely not a typo.

  2. right, and i bet you didn’t know that allisnakerat is actually a thanksgiving treat in some parts of the deep south. it’s quite similar to a turduckhen (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turducken), but instead of “traditional” thanksgiving meats, it’s a python stuffed with an alligator stuffed with a nutria stuffed with a rat.
