The firehose of awfulness

Today’s weather matches my mood. The world is completely overwhelming me today, just a firehose of awfulness. Last night Doc mentioned that our president had ordered the kidnapping of the president of a sovereign nation, and I realized that I had FORGOTTEN about that because of everything else overwhelmingly terrible that is happening. I am also still feeling very raw from my weeks spent absorbing the situation with my parents’ health, contrasted with an emotional high from seeing old friends in Seattle.

I just can’t seem to get on top of things today.

Here are some things that Trump and his administration have done that I don’t want to forget. This is just the tip of this iceberg — just things that have happened in the last couple of weeks. It is by no means exhaustive of what has happened just in the last couple of weeks, either. Any one of these things ought to be enough to get him and his cronies/associates/thugs fired and jailed, yet that doesn’t seem to ever happen.

• Refusals to release the Epstein files
• Hiring and funding a vicious, racist, cosplaying ‘secret police’ force that doesn’t seem to have to obey any laws
• Kidnapping people
• Blaming victims for their own murders
• Taking children from their families and disappearing them
• Breaking car windows for fun
• Targeting people based on skin color
• Dragging women by their hair
• Executing people on the street
• Tackling children in the street
• Using preschoolers as bait
• Home invasions
• Blatantly ignoring court orders with no consequences
• Sending people to foreign prisons with no due process
• Kidnapping the president of Venezuela, a sovereign nation
• Bombing fishing boats and murdering civilians
• Stealing oil from a sovereign nation
• Making groceries unaffordable
• Making health care wildly unaffordable
• Supporting Russia in the Ukraine war
• Threatening to invade and take over Greenland
• Pardoning January 6 terrorists
• Media outlets paying millions to settle lawsuits
• Embarrassing speeches like Davos and so many more
• Temper tantrums about Nobel Peace Prize
• Talk about canceling elections
