Monster/Warrior

Sometimes it takes you your whole life to figure out that what you thought were flaws are actually some of the best things about you.

Monster/Warrior

I plodded clumsily through life on giant’s feet
Shrinking down, slouching low
Failing to contain this massive cloud of curls
And carrying my bulk as tightly packed as I could
In hopes no one would notice me.

I didn’t yet understand:
My feet kept me standing, standing my ground
My full height was absolutely stunning
My hair, made of bailing wire, could have been a registered lethal weapon
My squeezable body kept me breathing, writing, loving
And sometimes the right people noticed me.

I didn’t have any idea I was an Amazon warrior.
