“The Triplets of Belleville” is a great movie. Go see it. The French are really weird, but sometimes that is OK. 🙂 We saw a special treat before the film started — a short film by Salvador Dali and Roy Disney. Walt Disney and Dali had begun collaboration on it in the 1940s but never finished. So Roy Disney, the nephew of the famous Walt, took the raw material, sketches, and ideas, and finished it. It’s really damn cool.
Speaking of Disney, Steve Jobs and Pixar walked out on their contract renegotiation talks with Disney. Certain smart and clever husbands suspect that this is because Steve wants Michael Eisner to step down as head of Disney, so someone else that Steve likes better can take over. Now, who would that be? Does Steve want to be head of Disney? No telling. Does Steve want Roy to be head of Disney? Maybe. All I know is, everyone is chomping at the bit to snap up Pixar film distribution and licensing. And wouldn’t it be sweet if that was Disney 2.0? Steve walked away from untold future billions of dollars in revenues from another Eisner Disney deal. Why? He doesn’t care about money. Steve’s a visionary, a big-picture guy who knows how to change the world in good ways, and luckily has much of the means to do it. Steve wants power. And maybe it’s the reality-distortion field talking here, but don’t think that would necessarily be a bad thing. Want more power, Steve? Here ya go! Take it! We’ll live happily in the kingdom of Steveness!
On a related note, apparently Michael Eisner did not want the Dali film to be made. If you’ll see it, you will understand why that makes the man certifiably nuts. It’s an amazing film. Who WOULDN’T want a Disney-Dali film collaboration to see the light of day??
It is amazing what nice hot soak in the bathtub can do for aches, pains, and your mood. Everyone, boys and girls alike, should occasionally take an hour to soak in the tub. Put a clay mud mask on your face, get a good book and some tea, and let the heat release your endorphins. Then, at the end, scrub your feet with a pumice stone and apply cocoa butter to your knees, elbows, feet, and ankles.
Ahhhhhh!!!
