My favorite Halloween candy

I like candy far more than any adult should. Which is one reason I’m sad my child did not participate in Halloween this year.

Here are my favorites, many of which make me sound like an old person. I mean, I’m 53… I guess I’m kind of getting there.

No chocolate on the list. I’m not that into it these days. Hopefully we can still be friends. If you like candy, what is your favorite?

• Caramels (any kind but especially those Brach’s cubes)
• Sugar Babies
• Candy corn
• Jelly beans
• Fruit flavor tootsie rolls (the “chocolate“ kind should all be immediately thrown in a dumpster)
• Butterscotch and cinnamon hard candy
• Mike & Ike, also Hot Tamales
• Twizzlers and black licorice
• Chick-o-stick (which is basically the inside part of a Butterfinger)

I considered pulling out my Princess Leia costume this year, even though all we did was sit around the house eating pizza and watching “The Lost Boys” (we don’t get any trick or treaters on our street).

And I can’t let a Halloween go by without sharing, once again, the best Halloween costume ever.

“Lower your shields and surrender your treats. You will be assimilated. Your Snickers, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, and candy corn will be added to our own. Resistance is futile.”

This costume took forever to make, but it’s AMAZING. I will also note that when I posted this photo to Twitter years ago, I got a retweet from Levar Burton! Geordi LaForge himself!
