Synchronicity

I finished this poem that I posted in rough draft form last week. I’m pretty happy with it now. It’s about connections that blaze across time and space.

Synchronicity

When you pull on the thread
Leaving your little pieces like breadcrumbs
Right in front of my eyes

There’s a bit of synchronicity
We see the same stars in the same sky at the same time
A connection that has been slow burning since day one
An unchanging absolute, a law of the universe

With quantum intensity it is there and also not there
It’s a particle, a breadcrumb, barely noticeable
And it’s a churning wave that flings me about

Either way, as time expands, it redshifts in my memory
And leaves a bittersweet stone in my belly
