I had a discussion the other day with Doc, as we do with extremely unfortunate regularity these days, about what a horrible human being 🍊🤡🧩💩 is. I won’t say what I hoped for, as this is a public forum, but I think you can probably take an educated guess.

It just about kills me that I have those feelings in my heart for another human being. But at this point, I do. I will rejoice and celebrate, with no regrets, the day I hear that particular news. I believe that I am still kindhearted at my core (which Doc confirmed, because things like this make me question myself), and that being kind to others is such a fundamental part of me that it’s not going to change… but this is an extraordinary situation that has made me take an extraordinary position.
I’m real tired of kindhearted people being taken advantage of and stepped on like a limp welcome mat. We ALL need to be SO tired of this, right now, that we collectively decide to play by the rules that MAGA has set.
Because I am done.
I am done with everyone taking the high road and playing fairly, when 🍊🤡🧩💩 and his MAGA accomplices give zero shits about those rules. They KNOW that they are breaking the rules to grab all the power and resources and they DO NOT CARE. They willingly and gleefully lie, cheat, steal, and they aren’t even trying to hide it. They have flat out TOLD US this is their plan.
It’s like if someone was repeatedly punching you in the junk, and you just stood there taking it and admonishing them, “Hey, we agreed not to kick below the belt!” assuming that they would realize that they were breaking the rules, feel ashamed, and stop.
They will NEVER stop, until you are dead and they have all your stuff. That is their goal.
The only way to fight that fight is to punch them right back in their own set of junk. Real hard. Fight dirty. Bring a rusty fork to a junkfight. Bring tears to their eyes. They’ll then whine that YOU didn’t play by the rules you agreed to. So what? Fuck ’em. They’re the very definition of “you can dish it out but you can’t take it.”
It is time to dish back. Dish it good, dish it HARD, and dish it constantly. That is where we are at right now. Gavin Newsom dished it pretty spectacularly on the issue of Texas’ shameful redistricting attempts. We need MANY MORE examples of that kind of fight.

And meanwhile, the spineless mass of jellyfish that is the Congressional Democrats just wags their finger disapprovingly, and crafts sternly worded messages, while doing NOTHING of substance.
(Of course, I realize: not all Democrats. There are certainly some who are working tirelessly to fight the administration. But there are nowhere near enough of them that are willing to take necessary extraordinary measures.)
I still feel that there is very little of substance that I can do as an individual person that makes a difference, but I (we) continue to donate money, show up at protests, talk about the terrible things being done so they are not forgotten, write down my feelings, call my representatives, create art, feel joy, see friends, reconnect with people.
