We have a tiny birdie family nesting in a fake potted plant in our backyard.
The pot sits on the ledge right outside the window above the kitchen sink, so we have a pretty good view of the parent birds (wrens, I think) flying back and forth to their nest that’s hidden in the depths of the plant. I have seen the mom bird bringing live grasshoppers back home at least twice, which is fascinating and gross. Circle of life and all that.

Despite being very tiny, these wrens are extremely sassy and loud. They seem to enjoy purposely taunting the cats by sitting on the door frame at cat eyeball height. Oscar freaked out and began smacking at the glass and the bird just sat there tweeting angrily. NO FEAR.
