May Day, Mayday

Happy May Day, everyone! Time for all of us in the working class to rise up against the fascist coup that’s currently attempting to destroy America!

It is definitely a “mayday” situation. Doc was downtown this afternoon participating in the May Day Strong protests against’s Trump’s treatment of federal workers and his pissing all over the Constitution, among other things. He appeared in the Dallas Morning News’ photo essay, too. Do you see him? (As he put it… Where’s Waldo, the Doc edition.)

It is hard to believe that I have FEWER rights now than I did at this 2018 women’s rights protest march… but that’s what’s happening in America. I keep thinking back to the unviable pregnancy (and subsequent miscarriage, seizures, and surgery) that I experienced in 2008, and how if that had happened to me today, in Texas, they might just leave me to almost-die or actual-die before providing critical medical help.

I will gladly show up wherever and whenever I can to peacefully protest this bullshit. While we still have the right to, that is. After that… well, that possible future provides quite a lot to think about, doesn’t it? I’m not so much fighting for myself at this point as I am fighting for my son, his friends, and his whole generation. KATY MAD.
