The height advantage

Overheard at the coffee shop: “Being 6’3” or over just makes your career so much easier. It just does. You can get away with ANYTHING!”

Surprise: two 30-something white guys were having this conversation. I realize I’m judging people I don’t even know, but they definitely seemed like the type who were used to getting what they wanted.

Related: I once interviewed a young man in his early 20s for an entry level administrative position, and in his cover letter he prominently mentioned that his 6’7” height would be an asset to our company. To be clear: I work for a university, not a basketball team.
