A super easy way to keep up with your old pal Katy is to subscribe to my newsletter!
this morning i needed to take my G5 to the apple store to get its battery replaced (yes, it’s only 2 months old… long story short, the clock loses a few minutes every hour when it’s asleep or off. i don’t think replacing the battery is going to fix it but we have to go through all this step by step song and dance before they’ll replace the logic board, which i think is the actual problem.) anyway, i decided to stop by the grand opening of the northpark apple store on my way down to the knox store, just for a few minutes, to check it out and maybe get some freebies.
i came down the escalator to the corridor where the store was, and saw THIS.

this is the tail end of the mall corridor. the apple store is waaaaaay down at the other end of the mall. the line wraps back around from here. i estimate that there were probably 500+ people in line.
i walked all the way to the end of the corridor where the store is, saw the dozen or so security guards letting people in one at a time as other people exited the store, and took this photo:

my plan to just pop in for a few minutes was, quite obviously, foiled. i’m guessing there was probably a wait of an hour or more to get in.
So umm, I guess you’ve come to terms with the fact that you belong to a cult, right?

i came to terms with that a looooong time ago! although we prefer the term “rabid fans.” š
it’s not often that a product inspires such crazy loyalty amongst its customers. and it’s not like we’re all “drink the koolaid” … most of us are smart enough to be critical when it’s necessary.
