sun-poisoned and happy

We just got back from South Padre Island, where we watched Rich and Riana get married. I’ll go into detail at some point when I’m not so freakin’ exhausted. Suffice it to say, it was quite a fun trip.

At right is a photo that we snapped as we were leaving to go to the airport. We made a u-turn and went back just for the picture.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I love vacationing with Leslie and Bruce. We seem to make really good travel buddies. Being best man and best woman, they obviously had other responsibilities, but the four of us got to spend some time on the beach just swimming, lying in the sun, collecting shells, talking.

I have sunburn on my shoulders and stomach, and Doc’s arms are quite red. I think Leslie managed to avoid any sort of sun-poisoning, but Bruce was sick on Sunday from too much sun and too much beer. “I’ll never drink another Shiner ever again!”

Rich and Riana looked so happy. It was really really nice.

Apparently Rich’s parents decided to stay on the island for another few days, as a vacation. This normally wouldn’t have even been an issue, except that Rich and Riana were also staying on the island another few days, as their honeymoon. The parents knew this. It’s a REALLY small island. They asked R&R to STAY WITH THEM in their condo.

R&R picked up and moved hotels and didn’t tell anyone where they were going to be. Smart move, I say.
