new year’s fun

What a great way to start of the new year — with a cluster headache. It’s very disheartening, because I was hoping (against hope, I know) that the one from the other night was just a fluke, a one-time thing. Not so, apparently. At least this one wasn’t quite as bad, he says. Still bad enough.

At least we were able to have some fun before it hit fully (it was developing before the party, but went away, then came back around 4 a.m.). We sort of semi-spontaneously went to Joel and Valerie’s for the evening. Rachel came over too, and they had some of their other friends over, both people we’ve met before and new people. Had some champagne and snacks, played some board games, watched the ball drop in NYC (weeee, happy 11 p.m.!). Party animals that we are, we stayed out until 2 a.m. That sure makes me feel old, when the times that I’m out until 2 are something that I have to point out and emphasize, like “See? I stayed out until 2 A.M.!! I’m still young and hip! No, really, I can do it, look!”
