This little ball of fuzz and purr is Marley, Bob’s new kitten. He’s adorable!! Bob says that he talks to himself a lot, and does a really cute thing where he lays on his back and kneads the air with his paws. Cleo is not pleased, but she will learn to share her house soon enough… and I’m sure Bob is heaping Cleo with extra attention during this troubling time in her life. 🙂
Got some good stuff here! CharisMac makes this great Firewire hub. I totally want it, even though I have no use for it. Frankly, I think that ALL computer peripherals (and hell, the computers themselves even) should be made to look like toys. Why should a computer look like a computer, anyway? (Sounds like something Steve Jobs might have said to Apple circa 1997…)
“Hubzilla is stomping through town and he means business. With piercing red eyes and an open mouth that lights up when plugged in to the Firewire bus, Hubzilla is as menacing as he is useful. When he’s not destroying your desk* he’s helping you with your Firewire connectivity problems.”
*Charismac claims no responsibility for broken personal or business related property should Hubzilla go on a rampage. As always, a clean and fed Hubzilla results in a happy Hubzilla.
I don’t think any other comment is necessary on this one: From News of the Weird:
September reports in the New York Post and the Toronto Star, quoting parents’ Web site “reviews” of the Mattel $19.99 Nimbus 2000 plastic-replica broomstick from the latest Harry Potter movie, highlighted its battery-powered special effect: vibration. Wrote a Texas mother: “I was surprised at how long (my daughter and her friends) can just sit in her room and play with this magic broomstick.” Another said her daughter fights her son for it but complains that “the batteries drain too fast.” A New Jersey mother, sensing a problem, said her daughter could keep playing with it, “but with the batteries removed.” Still another mother, age 32, said she enjoyed it as much as her daughter.
