A super easy way to keep up with your old pal Katy is to subscribe to my newsletter!
I knew it! I KNEW that I wouldn’t be able to do this on a regular basis!! That’s just the kind of person I am — great ideas, spend HOURS on them, but after it’s done it just sort of slips out of my mind. Not just “on the back burner” but I’ve saran-wrapped it and stuck it on the bottom shelf of the fridge, to be seen again only when I’m reaching for the pickles six weeks from now.
{sigh}
OK, quick updates: All is well with Arushi and the G4; she and Shyamal both love it. The portfolio is coming along well. I finished a wedding invitation for Kathy and Tamarah, an invitation to Kathryn’s housewarming party, and I’m working on a menu and a “package” of materials for a made-up company. I went to visit Mom in Houston and had a nice time relaxing, eating, shopping, and talking on my cell phone to the office for several hours. OK, that part wasn’t fun. Next week I am going to Las Vegas for a web design conference. Poor me!!
Here is one of the tough things about being a “creative type”: when someone tells you that you suck, there’s no real way to refute them. If you are, say, an accountant, and you are told that you suck, you can pull out your books and say “Look, no errors here, so you are WRONG!” Not so with creative endeavors, because the “You suck!” is an opinion, and you can’t very well tell someone that their tastes and opinions are wrong, because opinions are by definition OPINIONS and therefore not subject to being correct or incorrect.
